Essaouira, also known as the“City of the Trade Winds“, is a coastal town rich in history and culture. Its ramparts, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bear witness to a past of trade and battles.

Essaouira’s medina is a labyrinth of alleyways filled with artisans’ stalls selling products such as cedar wood and silver jewelry.
The town is also renowned for its festivals, notably the Gnaoua Festival, which attracts visitors from all over the world to discover this traditional African music. Essaouira is also a mecca for wind sports such as kite-surfing and windsurfing, thanks to the trade winds that blow almost all year round.

In addition to its historic charm, Essaouira is a very pleasant place to relax, with its long beaches, seaside cafés and fresh fish markets.
