Located in the Rif region, Al Hoceima is a coastal city in northern Morocco. It is known for its fine sandy beaches, secluded coves and crystal-clear waters. The city has a rich history, having been founded by the Phoenicians in the 6th century BC. It was also occupied by the Romans, the Vandals and the Arabs.
The city was renamed Al Hoceima in honor of Sultan Moulay Abdelaziz El Hociemaoui, who helped liberate the city from Spanish occupation in 1926. The city has experienced rapid growth since then, becoming an important tourist and economic center.
Al Hoceima is also known for its culture and heritage. It is the birthplace of Riffian music and has produced many famous artists and musicians. The city is also home to important historical landmarks such as the Bades Tower and the Mohammed V Mosque.
