Taza is a city located in northeastern Morocco, founded in the 7th century. Over the centuries, the city was under the control of different empires and dynasties, including the Almoravids, the Almohads and the Saadian and Alaouite dynasties. Taza has also been an important center for Berber culture and has remained an important cultural center to this day. In the 19th century, the city was conquered by the French and became an important part of the French protectorate in Morocco. After Morocco’s independence in 1956, Taza continued to grow and develop as an economic and cultural center of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Taza is considered a prosperous city in Morocco, with a developing economy based on the agriculture, food production and textile industries. The city is also an important tourist center, with many historical and cultural sites, such as the medieval fortress of Taza, the city’s gardens and the many mausoleums and mosques dating from the Middle Ages. Taza is also known for its local artisans, notably its embroiderers and carpet weavers, who produce high-quality items that are appreciated worldwide.
