Founded in 859 in Fez, Morocco, it played a major role in the development of culture and science in the Middle East and North Africa for centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al Quaraouiyine was founded by the renowned Muslim scholar Fatima Al Fihri, who devoted her life to teaching and the dissemination of knowledge.
