Although less publicized than <strong>football, basketball<\/strong>, it is experiencing rapid growth and is attracting more and more young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The history of <strong>Moroccan basketball<\/strong> is marked by clubs such as <strong>Association Sportive de Sal\u00e9 (ASS)<\/strong> and <strong>Raja Club Athletic (RCA)<\/strong>. The ASS, in particular, has dominated the national scene and made a name for itself on <strong>the African continent<\/strong>. <strong>Their victory in the Basketball Africa League (BAL)<\/strong> in 2017 was a historic moment for <strong>Moroccan basketball<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB)<\/strong> plays a key role in the development of basketball in Morocco. The federation organizes national competitions and implements training programs for young people. Basketball academies have been established in several cities to scout and train <strong>future champions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>national basketball championship<\/strong>, known as the <strong>Division Excellence<\/strong>, is very competitive. Teams like <strong>FUS de Rabat, Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) and Moghreb de F\u00e8s (MAS)<\/strong> compete for the title each season, attracting an increasingly large audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women&#8217;s basketball<\/strong> is also booming. <strong>Clubs such as Association Sportive F\u00e9minine de Mekn\u00e8s (ASF) and Chabab Rif Al Hoceima (CRA)<\/strong> play an important role in promoting women&#8217;s basketball. <strong>The women&#8217;s teams<\/strong> participate in national and international competitions, highlighting the talent of Moroccan players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moroccan players<\/strong> such as <strong>Yassine El Mahsini and Mohamed Choua<\/strong> are beginning to make a name for themselves on the international stage. <strong>El Mahsini<\/strong>, for example, plays in European leagues and is a source of inspiration for young Moroccan basketball players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Street basketball<\/strong>, or <strong>streetball<\/strong>, is also popular in <strong>Morocco<\/strong>. Informal tournaments are held regularly in urban neighborhoods, allowing young people to express themselves and hone their skills. These events contribute to the growing popularity of basketball and the emergence of raw talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Basketball in Morocco<\/strong> is expanding thanks to sustained efforts to develop the sport and the emergence of promising talents.
