The <strong>Berbers<\/strong>, the country&#8217;s original inhabitants, have preserved their traditions over the centuries despite Arab and colonial influences. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>Amazigh<\/strong> language is now recognized as an official language alongside<strong> Arabic<\/strong>. This recognition is part of a wider movement to preserve <strong>the Berber identity<\/strong>. Traditional festivals such as <strong>Yennayer<\/strong> (Berber New Year) and local religious ceremonies are celebrated in many regions.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Berber art<\/strong> is also very much a part of everyday life: from hand-woven carpets to silver jewelry, every object tells a story. Mountainous regions like the <strong>Rif and Atlas<\/strong> are the cradles of this <strong>ancestral culture<\/strong>, where the architecture of the kasbahs reflects the ingenuity of this people. <\/p>\n\n<p>The<strong>Berber culinary art<\/strong> is also a pillar of this culture, with emblematic dishes such as <strong>tajine and couscous<\/strong>, prepared with local produce and often
